Father's Day!

  • Jun. 21st, 2009 at 1:50 PM

Ode to my baby daddy:

I know that I take most of the credit, but if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have this little rockstar. :-)

Thank you for all you do and being the stay at home "mom".  It isn't an easy job, but you're doing wonderfully.

Happy 1st Father's Day, sweetie. ♥

I decided exhaustion is something I have never truly experienced until being a mom.  Even when I was working on my final semester at school and I would stay at the video editing lab until 3 in the morning and then go to work all day only to go back to the lab at night.....

Last night Conrad had a complete emotional crisis.  He has had late night meltdowns before, but nothing like last night.  I am certain is was because Michael picked him up out of his swing to to try to put him in his bed when he was sound asleep.  It was like he was stuck in a nightmare.   with Freddy Krueger.   It was horrible to hear him like that...The whole situation was just intense, out of control, and never-ending.   I hate when there is not a damn thing I can do for him.  It just gets worse and worse.

Ohhhh man.  I've only been here for 3 hours.  It is so hard to stay awake this morning at work.  Even with a pot of coffee and a movie called "Georgy Girl" on Turner Classic Movies. I always loved The Seekers song "Georgy Girl" when I was little...I did not know this was a movie!!!  Lovely. Actually it's slightly stupid other than the 1960's London theme.  I want chocolate.  I want sleep.

Is the first thunderstorm of the year!  I love it.  Except that I am at work and power outages + emergency communications = disaster.    Shouldn't get that bad though.

I super suck at posting entries lately.  I hate it but I feel like I have NO energy at the end of the day.  I get up at 5:30 a.m....work until 3:00 then take care of Conrad until 10 or 11.  I'm exhausted and I don't know how to make it better.  c'est la vie.

The weekend was nice.  I hung out with [info]vainpoppy and cyn on Friday night.  Michael watched Conrad  and the girls went to a bar we used to frequent many moons ago.  Losts of fun.  Although I had too many screwdrivers.  Actually I didn't have that many, but I was so tired that day and I hadn't really eaten anything either...this makes for bad news.  But it was nice to go out and spend time with friends!!

Conrad had his 4 month checkup on Friday also.  (Even though he is four and a half months now!)  He weights 15 lbs. 7 oz....he's 26 inches long and his head is 45 cm!!!!! He's in the 99th percentile for head circumference!!!!  And he still has his heart murmur.  His pediatrician is more concerned with his head growth at this point, but seems to think everything will even out.    My MIL scared the hell out of me with talk of a shunt.  noo.

He is obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba.  I know...tv...babies...blah blah...But he gets so pumped about DJ Lance Rock!!  (refer to image below)

Okay...I guess I am huge fan of the show as well.  Mark Mothersbaugh rocks my world, what can I say?

That is all I have for now, I suppose.  Freezepop is going to be at Talbott's on April 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!  It's always so fun to go see them in person.  Nice kids. good times. even if liz enthusiasm probably thinks I stalk her. hah.

C-rad is already practicing synth pop!

so today, as previously mentioned, I was roped in to working a 16 hour day.  Because of this, Michael could not go to his sociology class because he had to watch Conrad..

So he calls his teacher to let  her know the situation and she told him that it was fine, but to send her an e-mail as a reminder so she could send him the notes from tonight's lecture.

He sends her this picture.:

geezus...

To top everyhting off...all the $ I've earned for overtime tonight will apparently have to go to repair a stupid car rim that costs $350.(that was JUST replaced when I had my wreck in the summer)  hell...who needs to pay the gas bill, anyway?

16 hour shifts SUCK!!!

31. Biggest pet peeve?  People who think that they are superior to others....get over yourselves, fucktards.

32. In one word, how would you describe yourself?  adolescent

♥ Happy Valentine's Day ♥

  • Feb. 14th, 2009 at 7:33 AM

I have always loved Valentine's Day...I don't understand why some people hate it.

What's even better is that I have a husband who is super into it as well!!  Michael has made it Valentine's Week!  Everyday when I come home from work he has a little present hidden around the house for me!

The first day I got these:

Hott pink and grey slippers!  YEAH~!  The next day he hid some lipgloss I've been wanting forever (motherpucker) in a tampon box!  Then came the box of dessert chocolates...And yesterday  "Short Circuit" appeared in my box of microwave popcorn!!

Friday the 13th also marked our 8 month wedding anniverary!   It doesn't seem like 8 months ago.  Time flies when you move, marry, and pop out a kid.

Tonight my radical in-laws are taking Conrad for the evening so Michael and I can go see the Naptown Roller Girls and eat sushi.  *holla Oishi Sushi!!!*  I hope Conrad behaves okay because screaming constantly is his quickly becoming his new favorite hobby. Maybe his fangs are coming in?

Life is good. ♥

Coincidence?

i think not.

Ughhh...I'm quite certain that I have come down with a flu of sorts.  so much for the flu shot they gave me a couple of months back.  Chills, achyness, sneezing, coughing, tummy problems..I wish I could just go home and sleep until tomorrow.   But, alas, I am at work...watching the "The Life and Death of Anna Nicole" fighting to keep my eyes open.  I guess it's better for me to be at work by myself than to be at home where I could expose Conrad and Michael to my disease.

Michael and I have decided against going to see the Flight of the Conchords in April.  The more I thought about it the more I realized that $40 per ticket is pretty ridiculous.  Don't get me wrong, I love Jemaine and Bret but I have a serious problem with paying that much for a one act show!  And I'm a little disappointed that they are okay with charging their fans that kind of fee.  And even if I did have an extra $80 just hanging around (which I certainly do not--I signed up for overtime shifts at work) I don't think I could bring myself to pay it.

I had Butterscotch Pancakes on Friday night.  They were so good.

That one was for you, [info]vainpoppy .

What else has been going on?  Not so much.  My days consist of getting up at 5:30..working until 3:00..coming home so Michael can leave for school usually as soon I get home and then I take care of Conrad at night until Michael gets home from school at which time I go to bed.  It's hard night to see him very much anymore.  At least we have weekends, but it still makes me sad.

I've started back up on WiiFit this past week.  I swear when I step on the board for the first time of the day the game says "ow!"  LOL.

It's like springtime today!!  Too bad I'm stuck inside AND on my deathbed.

My new favorite community on LJ is [info]can_i_eat_this .  People post things like "If I leave an open jar of mayonnaise out in the summer heat for 4 days is it safe to eat?"  well, maybe not questions that are THAT stupid, but they are still fun to read, nonetheless.

That is all I have for today.

...Ahem...ATTN: HUSBAND!!

If you buy me this I will ♥ you forever!!!  If you don't...well...then...I will still ♥ you, just not as much.  heheh  *xoxo*

WHO LIKES TO ROCK THE PARTY!?

  • Feb. 1st, 2009 at 1:07 PM

I must first say that I HATE when posts accidentally get deleted before I get a chance to save them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't feel like doing my whole post again, but I will say that I am wayyyyy excited about Bret and Jemaine announcing US tour dates!  On April 25th the Conchords are going to be in Bloomington!!!!  w00t!  From what I understand tickets are $38 a piece though.  Ouch, boys!!!!!  I have never paid that much to see someone perform.  But, you, my dears, are so very worth it.  I will sell my soul to someone on the corner of Washington and Sherman for the chance to see you in person.  I just wish Kristen Schaal and Rhys Darby would be there too.  <3

I've been very inspired by my mother as of late to so hopefully I will be starting on some sewing projects or maybe some of my old hobbies will resurface.  I need something to distract me from life.  Conrad certainly helps, however.  I love that boy....even if his new formula makes his burps smell like hot grape nuts. hah

Lastly, when Michael and I were driving the other day, we stumbled upon this accident:

WTF?!  I would like to know how this happened.  I know it's not polite to take pictures when someone is in an accident, but no one was hurt and this was too crazy.  I tried to hide the fact that I was sneaking in pictures.

Only in Southport.  People drive like dumbasses down there.

Excitment for the night!

  • Jan. 8th, 2009 at 10:25 PM

Tonight when we were at Meijer we saw a man try to steal 4 bottles of this new vodka:

It's like $60 bucks a bottle!!!!  He was caught at the door by 4 police officers and was whimpering like an adult baby!  It was scary.  But what an idiot!  Seriously?!

Oh well...it was my entertainment for tonight.  (Other than a hilarious episode of 30 Rock including Kenneth performing a portion of the "Top That!" rap from Teen Witch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  <3

hahahahahhahhhahaha

So I was going through all of my Christmas pictures and found this gem:

For the longest time I thought it was a sweet picture of my "Nanny" holding Conrad.  But if you look in the background (you might have to click) you see my evil ass husband.  lolololol....It reminds me of that movie "Three Men and a Baby".  When we were kids we would fast forward to that part with Ted Danson just to see that freaky ass kid in the window.

The Hood.

  • Jan. 3rd, 2009 at 5:08 PM

Last week, only three houses down from us.  Our lovely neighbors posted this sign:

You can click on the image to enlarge, however, the words are still a little difficult to read.

The sign says  "TV THEFT/ NO FRIENDS VISIT/ CALL 911". (which Michael and I can only assume  means "if anyone enters this house call 911, mothafuckas!")

The other sign says "NOBODY WELCOME HERE"

I am sure that the property values of the houses in our neighborhood will skyrocket with neighbors like these!!!  Too bad we're only renting.  The trash in their front yard is also a lovely touch.

Not only a week before they had a huge ass sign that displayed "Pit Bull puppies ready for Xmas".

I hope the signs continue.  These are neighbors that everyone wishes for. *sighhh*

I can't believe that next week is Christmas!! It seems like just yesterday when I came home from the hospital and it was Halloween time! Now Conrad is 2 months old...geez!

I hate not having any money to spend on gifts. Things are going to be so tight with just me working and Michael staying at home with the boy. Everyone says that we don't need to worry about buying anything but I feel like such a douchebag because our families have been so generous. Having to switch to formula is a major kick in the ass! That's at least an extra $30 a week! damn defective boobs...

Enough with the depressing stuff.

Speaking of being broke ass bitchez, this is something that Michael is going to buy us one day:

It is a Gocco Press which is a small screen printing press that is super convenient for home use. One in three Japanese households had a Gocco press at one time, but with the popularity of digital printing, Gocco had to stop production of these home kits. Luckily, they are widely available on Etsy and eBay. I watched a video about this thing and it seems so fun to use! (and pretty cheap) FUCK YEAH!!

Tonight Of Montreal will be appearing on David Letterman!  YaY!

Now...Off to get pictures printed at Meijer and make peanut butter cookies.  YuM!

Grunge Baby:

I love baby flannel shirts...

I love Conrad.

I'm a Cyborg (But That's OK!!)

  • Dec. 8th, 2008 at 3:40 AM

While on maternity leave, I've discovered the "Free Movies on Demand" channel. The other night Michael and I found a great Korean movie called "I'm a Cyborg (But That's OK)"

I think this is the first romantic comedy I've ever truly enjoyed. Probably because Michael and I identify with the characters...It's sweet, insanely bizarre and violent. Right up our alley.

If anyone in the Indianapolis area has Brighthouse Networks, might I recommend going to channel 297, looking under the "Sundance Free Movies on Demand" and check this gem out before they switch out the movies. You will not be sorry...well, maybe you will be as this film probably isn't for everyone. But we loved it.

Yesterday, my mother-in-law threw me a "diaper shower". Conrad now has 1256 diapers. If my estimations are correct, this should last us 3, maybe 5 days..hah. It was a good time. Everyone is so generous when a tiny bebe is involved. This kid has been constantly hooked up and Michael and I greatly appreciate it. We are very fortunate.

It's strange to be wide awake at 4:00 a.m. It has become my time of being productive. By noon I'm a zombie. I will make it until 11:00 the following night, but I'm not all there, that's for sure. For some reason I can't sleep when he sleeps. I want to get things done. It will catch up with me soon.

"I CAN'T PUT MY ARMS DOWN!"
